high idle problems
just put a brand new crate motor in. replaced starter, radiator, water pump,
hoses, egr valve, and tube. as well as the aic. new clutch set up as well since the motor was out. also all ignition parts cap rotor plugs wires coil.
ive set my timing to 14, being i live in an extremely high altitude im more tht able to do so. ive also asked mutliple shops about this and they all recomend it. of coarse i removed the spout while setting the bae timing.
now my problem begins when i reinsert the spout enabling the computer to electroniclaly advance as needed. as soon as i do it idles up about 300 rpm and stays there truck runs nice and stong but wont idle down to a normal range. no matter what i do. (except for remove the spout) i dont have any vacume leaks at all. ive double checked everything and cant seem to find any problems,
any help would be greatly appreaciated,,, thaks
If the idle RPM drops down or the engine stalls then you have a sensor with a false output telling the PCM to kick up the RPM. Or in rare cases a bad PCM.
Check for codes as well. Many times you can have an issue or a stored code without having a Check Engine Light on.
