I put together a 302 for my 80 f150. now in ready for a trany I have a fmx but it does not have the holes on the bell to mount the shift linkage. Does any fmx trans have the mounting place or what outher autos in the salvage yard should i look for a trany that does. I bought the straigt rust free body for 200$ with out motor or trans. THanks

Buy an aftermarket cable shifter and mount it in the floor. Would that work? You could make a console out of wood and cover it with carpet so the shifter would be high enough to reach.
