My truck has them, with no evidence of any kind of use other than a dirt collector.

Now I'm just wondering why the BIG trucks have two. Maybe because of the rough ride they want to make sure it doesn't pop open

John, are you saying your hood has the rod supports? Can't imagine your hood having more than one safety latch...

I'm saying the hood on my 66 has the same as the photo above with no use for daily operation.

The latching system is in the center, this is over to the side, as seen in the photo.

Well, I went to the local PNP and I found one of the big ford trucks that had the duel latches. Don't know why I never noticed that before. Strange looking set up... Kind of looks like some one just added in their own ideas.

Spent over an hour looking up a bunch of reverse sump pan jazz for a 460 4WD swap that a 16 year old in the 1973/79 forum is asking for.

Not much on the tube this time a night, but later today TCM is running some good old films, a couple I haven't seen in over 40 years.
