Lets talk seat covers...

Just bought an 03 Lariat that has leather seats and captains chairs up front.

I am not a big fan of leather, especially in the cold, so I would like some decent seat covers for the front and back seats. My german shepherd rides on the back seat which is why I'm interested in rear covers.

What are some good quality ones out there that don't cost $500?

I've had Marathon Seat Covers for 10+ years and love them. Bullet proof and really easy to clean me labs hair off them. Wipes right out with just your hand.

Best cheapies I have found are the Dickies brand ones. About $20 each and waterproof made out of a black canvas type material. They do cover the complete back of the seat, so you will lose the pocket on the seat back.

Second choice would be the Grant sport seat shields. Also $20ish and waterproof. They don't cover the seat back. A nylon type material and come in grey, tan and black, IIRC.

If I run seat covers it just cheap ones. If I have to spend $200-300 for good covers I would rather run without them and just have the seats redone when there shot.

The Marathons look nice but $400+ for front and rear... I might continue looking for a replacement set that are in better condition than mine.

I have a set now that are the Dickies from Wally World but they just don't hold up that well and a pain to put in...but then again, I did make sure that the seat controls were accessible. So I did a little cutting.

The passenger front seat though... one of the straps broke so the front left corner of the seat keep sliding up now.

I've got a covercraft canvas cover on the leather rear seat for sandy, salty dog protection. It fits well, doesn't come loose and retains the armrest which has its own mini-cover. It was around $100. Based on the quality of the fit and attachments I'd bet their front seat covers would work well too.

I have used GT covers (Exact Fit Seat Covers - GTCovers.com) on other vehicles and have been happy with the fit and performance of them.
