I have a 2000 F-250 Super Duty 4x2, and I am trying to get the rear end lower. I know that there is a spacer and that will probably be the easiest way to do it. I was just hoping for some insight from someone that has maybe done the same thing without having to buy a kit to raise the front end.
Crawl under your truck and measure the steel block between the rear springs and the axle. If the block measures ~3 3/4" (which I think it will), you're in luck. Ford sells a smaller block that is ~1 3/4" for around $50?? a pair I believe. It's a simple swap you should be able to do in your driveway, and it'll both lower and level out your truck.
Someone here might even be able to give you a part #.
Good point. I just assumed 4X4, without really READING the post. 4" blocks on a 4X2? I'm not sure to tell the truth, but a quick check with a ruler will provide the answer. Or someone out there that knows for sure?
If not, and your truck has the 2" blocks, lowering/levelling will become much harder and much more expensive.
I've just ordered these drop shackles for the rear of my dually. Right now it sits 42" from the ground to the centre of the inner lip of the rear fenders, on 3/4" (that's .75 of an inch, not 3 x 4")factory axle blocks.
