HELP! Coolant leaking 4.6

I am working on a 97 F-150 with a 4.6 in it. It has work fine till yesterday it started leaking (pouring) coolant out of the block between the motor and auto bell housing. I thought it was a bad freeze plug but after I pulled the trans the 2 freeze plug are in good shape, there is another hole (like a freeze plug) just above the rear main seal plate that has a plastic inspection cover or dust cover shaped similar to a freeze plug. this is were the coolant is pouring out. Is this a bad intake gasket or block or ????? I guess it is an overflow hole but what is causing it. Thanks for your help in advance.

HELP! Coolant leaking 4.6

It's not coming from the corner of the head is it? I have heard that they had head gasket problems(leaking).

HELP! Coolant leaking 4.6

Under the intake manifold is a heater pipe. It runs from the water pump to the heater hose at the back of the engine. These rust out sometimes. They also have O-rings that can leak.
Unfortunately you have to remove the intake manifold to access it.

HELP! Coolant leaking 4.6

He's right ya know... I think it only leaks if the heater is turned on though. I'm not sure, but I had to get mine replaced because of a steady loss of coolant, but my leak came out at the front of the motor.

Unhappy HELP! Coolant leaking 4.6

New prob. on the coolant leak discussion. I had coolant leaking under the thermostat. Diagnosed it as leaking manifold gasket. Wasn't that but have two other problems. 1. The outside wall of the water passage on that head is extremely thin. It had cracked and the previous owner put regular epoxy on it and the epoxy cracked. I have cleaned the area and will put epoxy putty to build the wall back up. 2. Bought Fel-Pro manifold gaskets as listed by the parts store. Felpro has index pins. These pins are on the opposite side of the small holes in my head.

Question: Has anyone else had this problem, and any suggestion about the index pins other then cutting them off? Also, why is that water jacket wall so blasted thin?
