The truck has bias ply on a couple and radial tires on others
I didn't think you could mix them up
I know for a fact that mixing radial and bias on a car affects handling. Been there, done that back when. On a truck that size, where you're just kinda "herding it", I doubt if you notice the difference. I would not mix radial and bias on a steer axle. If AXracer sees this he may comment.
Edit: Looks like a lock ring on the steer axle. Can't tell about the drive or tag.
my 52 F6 had 900x20 on the front and 8.25x20 on the rear.
the fronts just barely cleared the fenders but would slightly rub on the frame rails etc when fully cranked.
that was when i got it with widow makers, now ive got 8.25's all the way around with good lockrings.
Im not familiar with tandem setups but I would think they should all be the same?
i dont think it would matter as much from.front to back though, say 8.25's on front and 900x 20's on back. etc.

That was my thoughts on the size and locations
Now all I can get in this size are tires from china?
yep. and my new (ok about 8 yr old) tires with zero miles on them already are weather checking.
I havent been searching for tires so not sure whats out there. I did buy 2 sets of four slightly used 900x20 traction treads for the 53 C600 about a year ago but have yet to swap them
I think I paid about $200 for each set of 4 which I felt was a pretty decent deal with no cracking etc..
all eight tires are not exact same tread pattern but really close, so the front tires will have a slightly different tread pattern than the fronts. if I ever swap them over...
are you planning on traction tread tires or just hwy tires? you'll probably find more options on hwy tires. are you opposed to used tires? craigslist or other classifieds are a good place to look. or trucking companys or service companys.
also find out who your local scrappers are, they love big trucks but usually like to remove the tires so they dont get dinged on the weight. also check with the actual scrap yards maybe.
those 8 wheels and tires I picked up came from guys scrapping big trucks and anything else they could find.
