howling noise ?
I for the life of me can not find where this howling noiseis comming from ! It does it at idle in or out of gear, or going down the open road. The howling does not increase with engine speed.
What are you all's ideals on this ?

...but it's NOT related to engine speed? I'm guessing it's made by air, then, and not something mechanical rubbing. Look at the exhaust, vacuum system, and smog pump plumbing. There's a check valve at the center rear of the intake manifold on top of a horizontal steel tube that runs between the heads, and another check valve beside the R exhaust manifold (near where the dipstick for an automatic transmission is) on a vertical steel tube that runs down to the cats. The valves & tubes are known to rust out on trucks MUCH younger than yours.
