Multiple coil pack failures?????
Took my 97 Ford chassis motorhome in for service. They recommended changing the plugs, along with cyl 6 coil pack which had coded misfire. After replacing cyl 6 coil pack and all plugs the RV ran great at low RPM, but under throttle the engine was misfiring. The computer showed various cylinders. Turns out 4 more coil pack needed to be replaced to make it run right. My questions is, what could have caused 4 coils to go out at once??????Any ideas? Thanks.

Water could do it. My 2006 F350 5.4 had no issues until the battery went dead and I left the hood cracked with the batter charger sitting under it out of the rain. Anyway, when I started it up to run into town, I had a #7 coil pack out. Stopped at a local tire store and their mechanic pulled all 4 packs on the drivers side and blew them out with an air gun and cleaned the corrosion from the rain pooling in the plug holes. Problem solved.
