hum/squeel while moving
I recently bought an '80 F250 4x4. The truck runs great, but I've noticed that when I get above around 20mph, there's a perceptible hum/squeel that sounds like it's coming from the front end - kind of like a lower-pitched version of the sound you get when you run your finger around the rim of a crystal glass. Anybody have any idea what this might be? It doesn't occur when stopped, so it's somewhere in the driveline, not the engine. I've changed the transmission, TC fluids, and shifting is tight, so I don't think it's that. I haven't yet changed the differential fluids. Wheel bearing? Differential?
