chris,

that is a good choice as well. I have several gun belts already. A good belt is a must!

That's when Mr. Murphy shows up, and you find out that the small weapon you actually HAVE, beats every magnum in existence thats left home because they are PITA to carry.
Yep, best round ever made. Whole heartedly agree.

I've carried everything from a 1911 Government Model, to a Combat Commander, to a S&W mdl 19 (4"), to S&W Chief's Special.
Now, more often than not, I carry a Glock G26 (Gen4) loaded w/ Federal 124 gr JHP "HST" rounds, or, my 'new' S&W Shield in .40 S&W w/ 165 gr JHP "HST" rounds.

Holsters have run from old Bianchi "Askins Avenger" to Don Hume IWB (mdl 715) or OWB "JIT Slide" to Bianchi "Remedy" for G16 and Shield .40.

As for concealed carry (from other states) to Maryland - Maryland recognizes NO other permits.
(Well, they recognize LEOSA permits, only because the HAVE TO!)

Yeah...them and New York! Very bad followed by CA.

They have that case pending for Right to carry in md..but it is an uphill battle.

Things look promising for Maryland and concealed carry, but, the new 'stuff' that going on is getting 'hairier' every day.

Calling for 16 hours of classroom training to PURCHASE (along with banning a LOT of firearms), and they're talking about/trying to incorporate that (classroom requirement) into Carry Permit qualifications.

didn't know that part of it. Here is where there will be a double standard. Arizona recognizes my mil svc so no classes needed =ccw permit.

Bet that I can provide my AZ ccw and md will say no...you need classes.

The CCW stuff was filed in court, and the courts said that MD was 'wrong' in making applicants PROVE "Apprehended Danger".
The courts basically said (paraphrasing, here), "Requirement struck down, you will now be a 'Shall Issue State'," and the AG filed for an injunction, pending appeal.

As for classes, Maryland has in the current Bill, something about 'proving abilities', and LEO, Military and Retired Military being exempted from SOME of the requirements.

This Bill is before the Senate Judiciary Committe for review.

I'll let that 'go', there. I'd like to keep this 'in the open'.

As for concealed carry, that S&W Shield is really nice!!!!! I LIKE IT!!!!

I am working on a spreadsheet to assist with this from state to state. Thought I would post what i have so far.

columns b and c is what I have verified. The other is from the AZ website.

States in red and am still working on.

I thought of this as an easy to know. I can copy and keep in my vehicles.

As I go through the states I am also keeping a copy of the website for future reference.

I use a Blackhawk waist holster & a pocket holster. I use a LC9 for my carry. Its small deadly & disappears in my pocket. I modded it with a Galloway trigger kit & heaver recoil springs. Its easier to handle than my LCP 380. I can put my shots in the 10 ring consistently. If you like shooting milk jugs with a 380 try some hot 9mm loads on them. It explodes them.

Agreed!

The technology that's been put into the newer projectiles, is nothing short of phenomenal!!!!

Federal HST. Speer Gold Got. Winchester SXT.
And the penetration on the 9mm Parabellum is really good.
(I carry the Federal 124 gr +P HST in my G19 and G26. The Federal 9BPLE 115 gr +P+ JHP have been 'semi-retired', because of this round.)

I finished my spreadsheet I posted earlier so I will include it for others that may view the excel file.

I did this because even though a state may claim other states recognize their ccw it is important to do your own research.

An example would be Colorado. They used to recognize all AZ CCW permits(Resident and Non-Resident). Well that changed just not too long ago.

Hope it helps someone.

Your right! The new loads for the 380 & the 9mm are great. The 9mm has so many good loads its hard to pick one. I like the Federal 124 HST & the Winchester SXT. I haven't fired the Speer rounds yet. I was using 147 grain Winchester for my carry load. Now I use Federal 124 grain HST. Less recoil than the heavier bullet with awesome terminal performance.
