Havent been on FTE in awhile, been really busy but anyway here it goes. I need HID's or something so i can get some serious light on the road from my 74 Highboy cuz im not impressed with my head lights even though i have really bright bulbs and the wiring harness upgrade. I want off road light but idk how id like to mount them. Im considering a light bar for the front and wana see pics of anyone who has a bar or has a pic of light bars on dents. This is the bar im thinking of getting from ORW and running dual 7" or 8" HID's on it.
I just got a high/low 6000k HID kit from DDM tuning and Hella ecode housings put in the stock headlights and I am very impressed and can see 10000x better. Just in case you didnt want to deal with the bar just to see at night.

What did that cost ya? I cant spend a fortune on lights haha
high/low 6000k ddm kit was 80 and light housings around 100. Make sure to get E-code lights they have the best light pattern and as best of a cut off as you can get without a projector housing.

It appears ORW's light bar would require drilling the bumper. Go for it if you're okay doing that.
Yea we held one up and it would require getting rid of the bumper pads but wats cool it it looks like we can drill through the bumper pads so they can stay which actualy looked kinda cool. I have NIB bumper pads in my closet so the old one i can drill through and what not. Eventualy ill be getting a NIB bumper with no black pads on it so this one is already kinda dull and shot to heck but is straight and almost rust free so to me its a test bumper so i dont mind drilling a few holes Wonder if i can return the br if i get it and hold it up and decide i dont want it?
When you say bumper "pad" I assume that it is made out of rubber. Depending on how hard or soft it is, the vibration could be transferred to the lights and might be annoying to you or other motorists.
IDEA.. how about getting two wrecking yard bumper guards (vertical) and drill them to accept crossbars with welded tabs.... could even have them welded.
theyre 34.95 now, used to be 29.99 when i bought them. ;(
they came with bulbs and are bright enough for me. unknown brand but havent burnt out so far in two years so theyre pretty good. i may try some silverstars before i even try hids. you could also put in a relay kit so when you kick the high beams or flip a switch all four glow, so you can have low beam, bright and both together! on my mazda pickup theres a sweet spot in between flash-to-pass and the same thing happens(gave me the idea)
im also wanting to make some extra headlight buckets behind my billet grille. wont be as efficient as out front on the bumper/bar, but hidden and provide extra light anyway.
The light pattern I think is much better on the e code lens. Just a personal preference. DDM has the best customer service of any HID manufacturer if you go that route, you get what you pay for.

Well no kidding Sherlock.
You could have been referring to horizontal pads pictured above which are also called "bumper pads". That's why I provided clarity to what I was referring to....
