Lets be honest here

It happen again, while replacing the EGR cooling hose I lost the short stubby 30 torx in the valley. So I ended up taping a 1/4" wrench to a bit to get that hard to reach bolt. That is the second torx socket that I have lost.

So the question is how many sockets have you lost in the valley?

Recovered them when I took out my turbo.

They were not sockets, they were the bits.

I am too damn old and way too fat to get my hands in places where these things fall. So if I do not have my magnet in my pocket and mirror close by the cost of replacing flying tools is too high so I wait till I have both

To be honest no tools lost in my truck but a did lose a snap on 7/16 wrench in my 94 camaro years back and never did find it I even had the entire engine and front sub frame out looked and looked with more then one pair of eyes and we just could not find it,the wrench vanished it must have fallen through a time portal and landed in a different world it just was not there hours were spent looking,oh my truck has gotten my wallet a few times if you know what I mean

i lost a pair of dykes, fell out of my pocket while crawling
above the exhaust of the #2 peaker turbine at la poloma
powerhouse, putting control cables in a tray.

never did find them. they shoulda put plywood over that exhaust
port.. it's six feet across, and stuff can fall in.
