Coolant change

I have a 2002 with the yellow coolant. I am approaching 95K on the clock. Since it is 10 years old, I guess I should change the coolant. Any tips on this? Is it necessary to flush the whole system, or can I just drain the radiator and refill? If any one has done this I would appreciate some advice.

If it was me, I would flush the whole system three times. Twice with tap water and once with distilled water, then close it back up and fill back up with four gallons of ELC concentrate and top off with distilled water.

But that is me.

Actually, 4 gallons of concentrated ELC will be closer to the recommended 50/50 mixture.

Spray those block plugs a few times, a couple of days ahead of time. It will make the job really easy. I flush out everything with the hose then flushed it out 3 times, with 22 gallons of distilled water.
