4 Bolt Main?
Yeah, I know the boss 9 motors are. I think that some if not all of the Clevelands are, I cannot tell you for sure, my C has been together so long I cannot remember. But I know that the BOSS 429 was a 4 bolt.

Did you ask at the 460 board?
couple of guys down there that know EVERYTHING about 460 engines... not me though, always had the better small blocks.
At least when it comes rebuild time anyway

IOBM, I weren't trying to be a smart-A, but I didn't & don't think Ford built any 4 bolt main engines. I know they built some side assist that could be thought as 4 bolt.

Barry, one of my NCFTO buds posted this.
The Boss 302 had 4 Bolt caps on # 2,3,4 and two bolt at # 1 & 5
351 C Have extra material at the cap web so as to allow the drilling and installation of after market main caps.
427 , 406, were cross bolted on the middle three main caps
428 Could be up dated to the cross bolt config.
429, 460 Have extra material at the cap web so as to allow the drilling and installation of after market main caps.
Does that sound about right??

Hi John, I see what you are saying now and I think we’re both right.
Boss 302 had 4 bolts on #2, 3, 4.
All 351C blocks have extra material for 4 bolt but the CJ, Boss and HO did come with 4 bolts from the factory.
406, 427 were cross bolted on #2, 3, 4.
428 can be updated like a 427.
Some 429, 460 blocks have extra material (4 bolt block) but the 429CJ/SCJ did come with 4 bolt on #2, 3, 4 from the factory and the Boss 429 had em on #1 too.
