So im looking to clean up the look under my hood a bit. I was wondering if there is a way to do away with the rubber corrugated pipe that runs from the filter to the reducer pipe before the turbo. Iv though about seeing if an exhaust shop can mimic the bends of the rubber one with some 4" chrome pipe? I have a 6637, so i could just slide that over the one end and id figure out a way to fasten the other end to the reducer. Has anyone done this or have any ideas or tips? While my truck is sitting right now waiting for a new tranny, im gonna play around and experiment with some things. Im also gonna fabricate one of those diy cold-airs for the 6637 so making that pipe chrome or metal would look real nice IMO.
Good luck on finding a exhaust shop that works with 4" tubing..If you are a good welder, the parts needed can be got at a truck shop..I got mine at Truck PRO
I think this is the right link to the guy. If not look up ZombieSoldier on the other forums. I think he's on dieselbombers too. It's decent for a decent price.
Edit that, not the right link.
