12 volt conversion
Can anyone tell me a source for 6 volt to 12 volt conversion kits. I have a 1946 Ford dump truck that runs good when it starts but I need the ability to jump start it off a car if need be and would like a little more oomph to start it. Thanks.

I've never really seen a 6 to 12 volt conversion kit. All you really need to do is get yourself a 12 V battery, all the needed bulbs in 12 V, a 12 V generator/alternator, 12 V voltage regulator, and resistors for the gauges. Patrick's Antique Auto in Casa Grande, AZ has them, they're called Runtz. Of course if you have anything else, like a heater, radio, etc, then you'll need to get a voltage drop for those items. Your starter can stay, as well as the circuit breaker under the dash.
