A4ld under dash adjustment

I have an 85 Bronco II 4X4 with the 2.8 and A4ld combo. Under the dash is an adjustment box for the trans, and I had once heard the trick to properly adjust this, however, I have forgotten the secret. Something about loosening it....pushing the accelerator to the floor, retightening it ........who knows? Hopefully someone here, I never adjusted it since I have gotten the vehicle, and I have pulled out the trans and had it rebuilt since then. Thanks in advance for any info.

If it is like my 88, you push in the release outside the firewall and pull the cable all the way out. Make sure the release then locks in place. When you push the pedal to the floor, it will automatically adjust itself out. The cable is attached to your gas pedal with your throttle cable.

A4ld under dash adjustment

Can you give me a little more info on this? I have an '84 B2 4x4. What is the adjustment for and where would I find it?

Thanks in advance.
