Stuck please help!

My truck say from Saturday morning until now in the freezing cold. I had nowhere to plug it in. Now when I put the key in and turn it over nothing at all happens. Any ideas what I can do to get it started. I don't want to keep trying and kill the batteries. Please help I'm stranded at my buddies.

What other info can you give us?

What does it do when you turn the key?

Does it crank at all?

Any gauges? - If so what do they show?

It could be anything from a failed fan clutch to the headlights were left on, and anything in between ... need more info.

I never plug my truck in. Even when it was in the teens a couple weeks ago. You have other issues besides the cold. We need more information as to what you have checked so far. Such as individual battery voltage and age.

I get dash lights and the glow plug light and all that but when I turn the kit nothing happens. Not cranking or anything. I replaced the batteries last week so that shouldn't be the problem.

You need a meter to check for voltage. If your alternator isn't charging your batteries properly, it will ruin your new batteries. Did you try cranking it in neutral?

Wiggle the gear shifter or try neutral.

ford blue heart is right with the gauges , so batts are a week old and you have good cranking yes, look at the ALT for not chargeing, can you jump start it may take 2 trucks to do this , do you have fuel and do you use anti gel, most use power service white bottle in the winter for diesel gel

The only problem is if I keep trying all these things and they don't work I drain the batteries. What's the neutral for and what's the probability that that's it?

Turn the headlights on and have your buddy watch them when you try to crank the motor. If they get really dim, or go out, you don't have enough battery power to start it.

If the HL's stay bright, try starting in neutral w/ foot on the brake, like Misky suggested.

It can jump you if you connect the cables and charge your truck up off of it for several minutes before attempting to start it. Make sure the Dodge is running, and keep it's idle above 1500 RPM's while you're connected.
