Roger that. No mention of the 35 lbs in the paper manual, and it doesn't specify the tin nut torque at any point either. Strange...or maybe not. Roland, do you have a page number from the DVD version of the manual.

No page numbers, but here is a PDF of the page as shown on the DVD. The torque specs are in the illustrations. It only shows the tin nut/coil end of the IPR when referencing the torque. SECTION 303 HPOP Replacement.pdf
That is the same info from the manual I have. Exact same photos and verbage. I wonder why there is not a reference to the IPR vs the tin nut torque values...arrow is pointing at the IPR in the photos you and I both have. Confusing to someone that wouldn't have access to this forum or some other expertise for clarification.
My DVD covers 2000-2003 model years. I even tried searching for the torque info using a different year model. I have found in the past that some torque specs are shown, i.e. engine mounts, when using different vehicle year. This one doesn't seem to be the case though.
The "good book" is referring the torque on the tin nut. I have it on dvd. "Torque the IPR to 35 ft/lbs and the solenoid retaining nut to 53 in/lbs." This quote is taken from Ford Senior Master Technician (dieselmann) Charles Ledger's website.
Thanks Roland. I knew 4.4 ft/lbs wasn't right and that Bob Riley (Dieselsite) would know the proper torque.
