do the 73-79 Metal part of the dashs bolt in or are the welded
in like the 67-72's??? I was wondering if i could swap one in since
mine has many a holes , from cb,s gauges etc...
Yes, they are bolted in. It's not really that hard to do. I've taken them off/ out of a '76 and '78 before. I can't remember where every bolt is, but, I remember it is better to remove it with everything removed from it. Steering column, gauges, pad, glovebox, radio, ect... Good luck.
While your dash is out... How about painting the inside of the dash and the firewall up behind the dash gloss white!
-So you can see up under there when you are on your back with a flashlight in your teeth. a brake pedal in your ear, pebbles grinding into your head, dirt in your eyes, and the edge of the seat twisting your back...
They paint the inside of big electrical enclosures gloss white so you can see, so why shouldn't we do the same?
The screws in the top of the dash are a pain, I had to use a phillps bit from my interchangeable screw driver and then a small socket and my ratchet to get them out.
