Is there a good way to bend brake lines without a bender? I have two brake lines to bend that are probably no longer then 3 feet and don't want to buy a bender.
I always take the old line off the vehicle and put it against the new line and put a piece of tape around the end where I am going to start and as I bend it I usually wrap a piece of tape around it so it doesn't move and that usually works very good for me when I don't want to use a tube bender
There are very cheap tube benders that are nothing more than springs you slip your line into and carefully bend them to your shape. I've used them with great success before--can't tell you who makes them or where to find them either but I'm sure they're still out there.
I bought a bender and some brake lines and got everything put together. It wasn't too difficult but harder then I expected. I bought pre-flared brake lines and they were a bit too long so I ended up having to make some interesting bends to shorten the line. Everything worked out though and now my truck stops!
