Good info ... The question is do the XL cabs have the correct wiring for the lockout?

I do not know, but I've got the 2002 wiring diagram in front of me. I'll take a look in a few minutes to see if there are differences in the connectors between the two.

Well I don't know if I learned anything we didn't already know. Here is the diagram for the crew cab. Notice number 8-lock.
Here's the next page where you can see where it interrupts the other three
It's connector C504b by the way.
Pickups without crew cab
Notice position 8 is there, which is the lock, just no connector C504b.
Here is the sheet with the two connectors C504a and C504b
And here is the driver door, it doesn't differentiate between CC or non CC, so idk.
Basically, pop the panel off and see if there is a spare connector there. If so, it should work

I do know that a lot of the connectors behind the dash are there whether or not they are hooked up. Like the crew cabs should all have the passenger airbag connector without the actual switch. Same thing with parking aid for trucks without it. I bet the connector is there, just need something to hook to it.

I got it from Nicmike. No clue where he got it. Might have been that boneyard in Austin, but I didn't ask.
It's the actual ford manual. Don't know how it would compare to the Chiltons...
