Automatic Shifter Question

I want to use an Edge center console in my truck and the shifter is in it so I would like to know if I could use it.
Can anyone tell me if this shifter would work on a C6 tranny? Maybe with some modification?

The Edge consul shows 5 positions. C6 has 6.

You have your work cut out.

I am more concerned about the spacing between gears. Will I have an issue with that?
I can live without manually shifting into low gear...
