"...Only problem now is it's running a little rich, so it won't pass smog but I can use a address out of town that doesn't need smog tests..."
Tuned correctly it's for economy, power, and lengthens the life of the components as well. Today the pollution is also important even away from others ("in desert") it hits YOUR (& my ) air.

Glad to hear of another father/son success! Hope U both get to drive it (OR U start a 2nd project...how bout a '62 Ranchero?).
I thought we were doing so good, and the engine is running fine but now the problem we're having is the charging system. The guage says its only putting out 12 volts so I bought a new alt and when we tried it we got 14 volts for a minute then back to 12v , it fluctuated back to 14 v and to 12 v where it is now. what do you think the problem is, a short, we checked most of the things we figured might do it but can't put a finger on the problem. It really sucks cause we can't go very far without having to get jumped since its only running on battery, and go back and charge batterty again, this isn't going to work for me. Now my son thinks we need to get wiring harness,$500.00 + and mustang control mod and intake. I would really like to figure the charging problem out first before I go any farther with this.
And I have a 1964 T bird I got when my dad passed away that is all original and is in really nice condition that needs some carb work and maybe getting the heads done for s--ts and giggles. It sat for over 25 yrs and I was driving it a bit after putting a 650 cfm edelbrock on it but it didn't perform as well as I think it should, so heads will get done and we'll go from there. This is my next project for my son and myself to beat our heads against the wall with. I am going to take a couple pics today and post them of both vehicles. Thanks for your help, hope it doesn't stop coming. I don't get on this forum as much as i should but I do when I can.Lynn
