Get a set of engine stands from a later model with a 302 (up to '79 if I am not mistaken). The 351w will then bolt in as the 302 and 351W share the same mounting point dimensions.

C4 should go in without a problem. Some of the 6 cylinder trucks came with C4's when these trucks were new.

If your just joy riding the C4 will be adequate. If you pull anything, or plan on making any amount of HP with the Windsor, find a SBF patterned C6. C6 takes a bit more power to turn, but its about twice as tough as a C4.

yomo, You might want to consider an AOD tranny. Cruising in OD will help with the gas mpgs.

Many part will swap between the 302 & 351W.

sorry to hijack the thread but do the motor mounts bolt directly to the frame or do you have to weld them in? i have a 65 with a 352 in it i would love to put in a 460 but the motor mounts on the 352 are in the front of the motor not side to side.

Your 352 has the industrial FE mounts if I read this correctly. Timing cover mounted to front cross rail. Aft via transmission left and right. My 64 was setup same way, hard to see it. But the 64 was a straight axle, your truck is IBeam ?

I believe the 64 had the Yblock 292 installed as described. The 65 2wd should have had side mount bolted FE & I6 perches.

arbuckles3 460 perches from 78-79 trucks will work. Not positive on first year for 460 in truck.

John, arbuckles3 omitted a very important detail when he typed: i have a 65 with a 352 in it / Look at his signature: 1965 F100 4WD w/a 352.

1965 F100/250 4WD; 1965/66 F350; 1966 F250 4WD use a similar 3 point engine mounting system as 1961/64's, and the same rubber insulators.

The FE bell is specific to these trucks as it has two 'ears' on it.

Rear per side: "Donut" rubber insulator located below crossmember, rectangular steel/rubber insulator located above, between crossmember and ear of bell.

Bolt passes thru lower/upper insulators, then thru ear on bell. Nut/washer secures in place.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Front: L shaped bracket bolts to block. Donut below crossmember, rectanglar steel/rubber insulator above crossmember.

Bolt passes thru L shaped bracket, upper/lower insulators, nut/washer secures in place.

You're doing just fine.

It wasn't your fault in the other thread (park brake lever spring), it was mine, because I didn't look up the spring applications in the text, just relied on the catalog pic which is wrong.

It's not your fault inre to arbuckle3 either, because he failed to list all the pertinent details when he typed i have a 65 with a 352 in it.

Where is there any mention of 4WD? No see um.
