Just an FYI, the stems in the rear wheels are installed before the rims are placed in a shipping box.
And when you do get them changed, check them over before installing. I had one wheel installed and the second was reordered because it was scratched.
And the dealer just called me and had checked the wheel before letting me know it was in, and that wheel is damaged.
These wheels list for over $700, you would think the chinese would pack them better - yes they are made in china.
I still haven't checked my wheels. Been too busy and am getting slightly forgetful. I will make a point to look tomorrow. I have a question. Do you feel the corrosion is severe enuf to compromise the structural integrity of the rim, or is it cosmetic? I ask because if the wheel is structually sound, and if it would work as an inside rim instead of the steel rim, I would be interested in having the aluminum rim on the inboard tire as well. If it would fit, that is. Not too thick, ya know. Also, I wonder what the weight carrying capacity of the steel wheel vs the aluminum wheel is? I don't want to compromise GVWR or safety.
Hmmm. Guess I got some research to do.
Glad FOMOCO is taking care of this issue. Thanks for bringing the matter to light.
