Hello, I have a 2006 F-550, Died starts but no power, checked fuel pressure at secodary filter housing and had 12 psi. removed upper and lower fuel filters and found paint chips in the lower fuel filter, called Ford parts they are aware of the issue, the sealer is coming off the inside of fuel tank. We replaced fuel tank, pick up and fuel pump assembly, all ford parts. Issue now is truck runs BUT no power and P0263 and P0284 have appeared. Tried WOT clear procedure to remove air but no luck.Fuel pressure is 50 psi at secondary fuel filter housing.Any chance paint got past filters into injectors ??? Thanks in advance for help !!!!
Not sure how long the paint has been in the system. All 8 injectors were replaced about a year ago and nothing was said about them being contaminated. Just was driving and lost power and had it towed. Going to check connections on tank side of conditioner/pump for leaks that may be pulling air in. Keep you posted. Anybody heard of the tank liner peeling off before ? Ford had all parts in stock and said they sell hundreds every year. Ummm recall !!!!!!!!!
Yep this pretty much sucks !!! Codes are contribution/balance codes. Performed aeration/bubble test and found no bubbles, so leaning toward injectors are clogged up with paint particles. I have a 03 X with a 6.0 and i asked if these have the same issues, they say no 550's only. Will keep you posted !!!!!!!!
