Does it pull to one side? It should run fairly straight with your hand off the wheel. It should return to center from a turn also.

If it pulls to one side or the other, it is an alignment issue. Ditto if it won't return to center.

No, apparently he really needs a steering stabilizer to fix it.

None of the above, works just fine until you get off road or are on a rutted road or heavy grooves.

That's just the nature of the beast. Wide tires=pull offroad. Especially on ruts and grooves
