My parts dealer in the UK has just informed me that his US supplier will not ship Motorcraft CJ4 15w40 anymore (customs' issues with flammable liquids).
I can purchase Rotella or Rimula over here in the UK but they are CI4 spec.
Does anyone use an alternative to Motorcraft and will CI4 oils cause any engine damage?
I have had the truck from new in early 2007 and have had no problems or parts replaced other than normal fluid and filter changes.
Are you deleted? If so, I don't see any major problem with CI4. But if you're still stock, CJ4 is required due to ULSD. CJ4 handles soot much better as well so deleted is a must if you intend on running CI4 and oil analysis is a must as well.
