Engine Idle Timer
Does anyone know how the engine idle timer works? Engine running while in Park? Engine Running and 0 mph? Engine running and less than xxx rpm?
I was curious if anyone knows and whether or not it starts counting while you're coasting down hills etc. My weekdays consist of mostly low speed around town driving and I've currently got about 70 hours on the engine with 10 hours of engine idling. It seemed to me like the ratio seemed a bit high.

I think its under 25 mph in traffic at low RPM and any time not rolling. I drive in town a lot and then the drive throughs but I never really idled and have about 25%. Now its winter and I want to stay warm. I wonder what it will go to now. The 04 would kick up the idle after a few min in cold weather but the 12, I haven't noticed. Is there a dealer high idle mod?

HDslider brought up anytime throttle input is 0% in addition to the other ideas.
He may be on to something because it adds up quickly.
You could be moving 10,000 lbs down a grade at 40 MPH but throttle input is 0%.
