The key on the Dorman's is to test fit the pipes to the collector by running the bolts all the way in. The Chinese ladies at the factory sometimes don't tap the holes in the collector deep enough by a couple millimeters. The solution is to cut/grind a couple threads off the bolt/s. Some folks with Dorman's have not had this problem, so maybe it is only an issue for the pipes that came off the line late on a Friday.

I am also close to ordering the new boots from Clay with the turbo install kit. I think I am going to order a set of up pipes from Advanced and take the set to an Intl dealer and compare the two. If the difference is negligible, I 'll buy the Dorman. IF there is a big enough difference in quality, I'll order the Intl ones.

I punched in a promo code for Advanced and I can have the Dorman up pipes (part # 679-005) delivered for $144 plus tax. Sure beats $400+ Intl ones.

Andy...great catch. There are multiple codes for AAP right now where you can get $50 off plus free shipping on these. I just ordered a set that cost me $155.87 shipped to my front door.

Now I just need to figure what else I need to do my EBPV delete and turbo rebuild.

Best to simply do a Google search on "Advance Auto Parts Coupon Codes," but here are the results from one site:

http://slickdeals.net/landing/advanc...FY6Y4Aod8RYA7A

Most of them have a $50 limit, so for instance, if you get the 30% code, it will only go up to $50 versus the $57-58 it would have been. Plus it's free shipping on any order over $75. You will have to pay sales tax if your state has even one AAP store in it...

Dang there's a lot of us between north Texas and Oklahoma. Somebody with a little land needs to start a Gtg. I'll be ready after I buy some property, but that may be a few years.

IF you have changed your up pipes, did you buy the kit from Clay to re-install the turbo, or just the O-rings?

Just jumped on the discount bandwagon as well. Ordered a set of dorman from AA for 153 to the door.

I'll be ordering a billet wheel and turbo reinstall kit from clay next month, as well as a muffler delete.

As a rule, anytime the turbo is removed, the reinstall kit should be used.

I bought the turbo install kit, the difference if I remember right is the install kit has the pedestal o-rings, the 2 long bolts that mount the turbo to the pedestal, and the clip for the ebp arm... I only used half the o-rings. The o-rings are 6 bucks, the reinstall kit is 20...

My bolts were just fine as was the turbo outlet o-ring, my pedestal was not leaking so I just replaced the ones at the base of the turbo and put it all back together, if you are careful and use the instructions on Riffraff's site, you won't need the new clip. I asked Clay why I would need the bolts and he said some people don't live in the nice dry south and it gets all rusty. I feel sorry for you guys up in the salty, slushy North.

Wow, sounds like there is going to be some honest reviews for the Billet Riffraff wheel. I want to do one on my X to get rid of surge, I have heard of people loosing fuel mileage after installing it...

Well I hope that isn't true... I was just reading the post about the RR 6/6 wheel and how it is designed for ported houses... I'm all stock, hope I didn't make a mistake. I suppose I could always get the 5/5 WW2...
