Even if I've got to re install one of the cups (pretty sure I've got an idea of which one to look at) it won't bother me. I just don't like having to let something slide for long once I know about it. Ignorance is bliss lol

Dorman's are on the way. I will let you know what I personally think of them when they get here and when I install them.

I have a set sitting in my truck. I purchased a set of the Dorman up pipes to put on my wifes Excursion during my vacation to the Inlaws (since he has a lift in a sweet garage.) It all got put on hold due to puking kids one day before we were supposed to leave. 3 weeks later the whole family ended up getting sick and I am just starting to feel better. I got everything from Ford to redo the stock up pipe gaskets including a new babys butt if I needed it. It was 190 in parts from ford for the new butt, all new bolts, gaskets, and turbo pedestal o-rings.
I guess when I get around to it I will do the install on it. The mechanic I got them from said they had issues with them being a little short, but that the bellows were fully compressed but stretched and fit just fine.

He tried to get 400 for them from me and I just laughed at him. and told him to call and check how much they really are, since Dorman had just GIVEN him 5 sets of them to try out. You can get them from Autozone, he said they were under 200 from them you just had to special order. Oh in the kit, they include a new babies butt and bolts.

So anyways when I get around to actually putting them on, I will do a write up and let you know what I find.

Mine are in the garage standing by for install. I need to paint and wrap them, then rebuild the turbo, delete the EBPV and throw them on! I have the paint and wrap, but life is getting in the way of me doing it. Just had sinus surgery, MIL moved in after FIL died so we had to build her a guest house out back, and now my 2 year old is having her tonsils and adnoids out tomorrow morning.

I WILL get to it soon...

I ended up not putting them on and gave them back to the shop I got them from since I had not paid for them, the shop owner is a buddy of mine.
The reason they went back is I had just purchased 2 sets of good used International up pipes from a guy on FTE who goes by "Jocaren" for 400 bucks shipped. Now I have 1 set for each of my trucks. I am sure I am going to have to get new gaskets for them since they were taken off as one piece, and I will have to take them apart to install them.
According to the shop I got the Dormans from they said the uppies were a tad short and you had to "stretch" the bellows to get them to fit on the ones they had sold and installed, they had 5 sets, and had installed 3 of them and they all were the same, installed ok just seemed a little short.

I'm dragging up this old thread to see if there are any new feelings on the Dorman bellowed up pipes? Anyone else have experience with them?

I have them in my truck and love them. No problems yet anyhow. They were a booger to get in and was pretty tight, but they fit.

No problems yet. So far worth the savings.

Nice to hear the results are holding. TKegs, I'm pulling the exhaust at the same time. That should open more room for a smoother install, right?

Thanks for the comments!

Yes it will make installation much easier, but have a pedestal oring kit ready. If I remember correctly we ended up having to loosten the turbo to make it work. Good luck!! You'll love them once you're finished!

I never did install the Dorman kit I had. I did get to install the used IH bellowed pipes I got though, since I had pulled the turbo and taken the entire exhaust off of the Excursion it was really easy to install the IH kit. Since they were used I ordered new bolts and gaskets from Riffraff, I had the pipes installed and tight on the collector, and slid them down from the top ( since the down pipe was out of the way it went in really easy) I used some anti-seize on the manifold bolts, and ran them all hand tight.
I installed new RR plenum inserts and boots at the same time, I put the turbo back in and found it was easier to have the clamp on the turbo when reinstalling the collector/ turbo clamp. Once it was in and tight I tightened down the manifold bolts, then I put on the new 4" turbo back Diamond Eye exhaust. It took me a day and a half to do all the work since it was my first time really digging into a 7.3, and I was taking my sweet time.... and on vacation at the time too.

I need to do the same thing on my F450, but I will be diving under the valve covers when I do that, since it needs injectors.

Same here...minus the new exhaust. Hopefully NicMike, Mueckster, or Toreador_Diesel (or any combination thereof) will be able to help me do it! Maybe sometime in October....
