transfer case shift motor
Whats up folks, I am in need of help here. I am new here so please bear with me. I have a 1999 xlt 4x4 5.4 and I think its stuck in 4lo mode. After reading other threads I have tried some quick fixes. I checked the fuse and it was fine. I was also told to try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and that didn't work either. The dealership is telling me that the shift motor is locked and needs to be replaced at about $650.00. Does anyone know if there is anything else I can do to prevent replacing the motor? Please help

My friend has a 2001 XLT 5.4 and because of this his truck blew two gears on the tranny, also the "Planetarium" or something like that went (I have no idea what this is...).
So, you shold take care of this...
