Talking First time Running

Poured some gas in the tank . Cranked for 30 seconds and it fired right up on the static carb and distributor settings. 40 psi oil pressure at about 1500RPM with 10W30 oil. I am very happy .

Allan, great feeling for sure!
Do you rebuild it yourself?
I always feel unreal when one takes all these parts that make up the engine and somehow them come to life with a little gas, compression and spark!

Very cool! Like you, I have built many motors for myself and customers. Lit off a pretty nice 347 in my stang last week, but I really want to build my first flatty soon. I know I gotta do my homework first so it don't spend a bunch of money on something that makes me yawn.

We'll have to chat sometime and catch up Big Windy. I figured I should wait at least 10 days before I start hijacking good threads.

Exactly what I was thinking. Even a modern block won't take near that unless it is aftermarket.
