i got my new DC alternator today. i notice the pulley size is different. is this ok or normal or am i to change the pulley.
Are there benefits to a smaller pulley?
It turns faster and will ultimately create more amp output at lower rpms. Unless the tensioner won't tighten the serpentine belt properly, I don't see any reason to worry about it.

that is why there are spacers, so the OUTSIDE edge of the
pulley is the same distance away, so the belt tensioner
can maintain correct tension.
measure the two pulleys, take the difference in diameter,
and divide it by two.....
that is the thickness of the spacers.... mostly...
the smaller pulley spins faster, and generates more
current at engine idle.... their 270 amp unit does
200 amps output at idle..... ya gotta spin it, there
is no free lunch.
How long did it take for you to get it? I just ordered the same one last week
i ordred mine dec 22, just recieved it on 1-5, the two holidays in between didnt help matters so im happy with the time. i imagine where you order from matters too. i got it from dc directly
