Ok, thanks again for all the helps guys, but now, what's the best bolt to use??? I called Ford and since they can no longer get that bolt, he gave me the specs/part number, M8x55, is this correct? Can/shud I go longer? I'm not tooo worried about the price as long as I get what I pay for ya know.
Okay guys, I can't figure out how to post a pic to the thread, but i did start my garage or whatever, so I guess go to my profile? I'm still real new to this site, and being on an i-phone isnt helping but I did upload them on my page and in the gallery
I just put a new Trans in a truck that is new to me. When I pulled the old one, I found it was missing 2 of the 6 bellhousing bolts. 1 short one, and 1 long one. NAPA had exactly what I needed to replace them, and didn't cost that much either. Tried Ford first, but the bolts are now considered obsolete for our trucks and aren't carried anymore.

that's what Ford told me, I didn't try naps yet, Idk when theyr open where I live, do you by chance know the part number?
Just go in and tell them you need some grade 8 or higher bolts. You're looking for 4 that are M12-1.75x110 or as close to 110 as they have without going too much over, and then 2 M12-1.75x70. These are the shorter ones that go at the top of the bellhousing. Again, as close to 70 as you can with out going much over, or you might run out of threads in the bolt hole and have to use washers to get them tight. However, you should have 1 lock washer to accompany each bolt anyway so make sure to get those too. the 110 and 70 I'm referring to is the length of the bolts in millimeters, just in case that was unclear.
You won't find a "grade 8" M12 bolt; that grade applies to the inch-fractional fasteners. You want a 10.9. And yes, with metric, there is an even higher grade, 12.9.
