I just ran across a pic of my first Ford truck. It was buried in some old girlfriend stuff...didn't even know I had a pic of it. My first vehicle was a pos 78 Jeep that I had a ton of fun in, but this is the truck that won me over to the blue oval. And other than a gas-miser Toyota for driving back and forth to college in, it's been nothing but Ford ever since. 1973 F-100 with a bored 302 from a 68 Thunderbird that I paid $700 for. Headers and blown-out glass packs that sounded awesome back in the day. Blew it up and rebuit it twice in the 2 years I owned it. Got popped by a state trooper doing 119 mph in it when I was 17. Post your first Ford...
My first Ford was a 1978 F150 Ranger that I ordered new in 1977. It was Candy Apple Red with a 300 6 and 4 speed w/od (5 speed). It looked like yours weyland 460 even down to the white spook wheels. I traded it for a 1979 F250 because the F150 wouldn't handle the new slide in camper we bought. Owned only Fords trucks to this day 7 and still counting also one E350 van mixed in there.
My first Ford is the one that I own now, I just wish I had gotten one many years ago, I probably wouldn't have had to deal with some cars that I wish I had never owned. So far I've had:
1984 VW Rabbit Diesel (First car, paid $300 for it. I sold to my brother when I bought the Golf, he took it to Alaska and was still running strong when he sold it with 250k+ miles on the odometer)
1985 VW Golf Diesel (Paid $900 for it and owned the whole time I was in the Navy, drove all over the west coast in it. I miss the 50mpg I got with this car!)
1988 Chrysler Lebaron Convertible (Most unreliable car I ever owned, gave it some poor sailor when I got out of the Navy)
1997 Nissan Hardbody (Still have it and still drive it every day)
2004 Hyundai Sonata V6 (Great car, put 80k miles on it over 6 years and did nothing but change the oil)
1999 F-350 (First Ford and first real truck, even though I've had to do a few $$$ repairs on it, I'm still glad I bought it)
2009 Chrysler T&C (Replaced the Sonata, not my favorite, wanted to get her an Excursion, but the 20 mpg is a little less painful with CA gas prices)
'91 F-150 with a 5.0 and manual M5OD. bought it from a place i used to work that had bought it from another employee to use as a plow truck; gave me a hellluva deal. drove and beat on it for a couple years and sold it for more than i paid for it.
my first vehicle was a 1986 f150 lariat 5.0 EFI got it with 80k on the odo....(no telling how many times it flipped)..i put 200k more on it before scrapping it a few years ago for more then i paid for it initially
My first Ford was a 98 ranger... 4 cyl, 2wd... regular cab, green. I bought it used with 90k on the clock. Drove it for about a year and decided I wanted a real truck.

My 89 was this color scheme...I had never seen another like it until now. I drove it til over 200k, both window motors gone, ignition stripped and head gasket blown. To start it, I had to put the battery terminal on and short across the solenoid...to kill it, I had a rope tied to the coil wire that I manually pulled. Drove it this way for about 2 months when I was too broke to have the ignition fixed

My neighbor has been doing this to his chevy cavalier for months..lol
Mine was a 1955 stepside inline six, three speed on the column, and it had a hand made wooden bed. Looked like crap. Only paid $75.00 and found a slightly bent up bed for $50.00 in a junk yard.
The finished truck had a red cab and a dark green bed....looked like Christmas!!
I wish I had pictures. My first car was a '88 Mustang 5.0 I had 6 fox body's, the last 2 ran 8's in the 1/4 mile. First truck was a '97 f350 PS. I convinced my family to go Ford after owning GM's all their life.
