Ok so Im looking to do a dpf delete here soon on the 450 i have and want some input on this on which is the better kit to use. Also have concerns since im hitting the 140,000 mile mark on what i know to be the factory filter the other concern is im following the factory recomeneded oil change of 10,000 miles cause i havent done as much towing if any with this truck that i use to do. any input would be appreicated.
Gonna be lots of opinions. H&S, Spartan, DPF-R, SCT. All going to be roughly the same ball park. H&S has voluntarily stopped production due to EPA. Edge stopped last year for similar reasons. I think H&S is the most popular on here but there's only a handful of people that have used more than one brand to compare.
I was planing on going back to a 5000 to 7500 oil change since im close to the 150000 mark and i just got done with changing the oil and hour ago lol. damn the cost of it compared to a 7.3. and to rm thanks im doing some looking at them i was just worried bout puting a tuner on it with over 100,000 on the truck but im not looking to really boost the hp just the fuel milage and get rid of the bs that the extreamly pariond a**holes think a diesel needs
Nice thing about the DPF delete is you can go back to 7500 especially with a good 5w40 (might be a wash after paying more for the full synthetic) Mine was a good 2qts overfull at 5K before the delete.

true, Blackstone said my oil was still good at 6800 miles! I had it tested at just over 5k and the TBN was still good , blackstone said try another 2k-3k , I had it redone at 6800 and they said go another 1k but I changed it at 7,000 miles.
Thats good to know bu i went on and orderd an exhaust but only did a 4 inch stainless. The only down side to all this is i have or had an engine warrenty till 200,000 miles put on it but know with every slow down i do in regen or like tonight it finshed its cycle and threw that lovely wrench light on tells me that i cant wait much longer to change it. and i live check to check so i really cant afford a dealer priced dpf so heres hoping that something dont screw up on this 140000 mile beast lol..
In hind sight, I would have deleted and tuned way before my warranty was up but that is just me. You would not believe the problems I had with my truck before it was fixed. Now,,,,,no issues what so ever,,, I mean nothing,, I could go on but I think the tuned and deleted guys will back me up here, these engines are just awesome when opened up and aloud to breath.
