It had 4" lift springs when I got it. I posted all of this in the offroad forum and another member and I concluded that the bracket I have is some homemade crap from a previous owner. I forgot to mention the opening where the trac bar goes in and mounts to was clearly cut by hand.
hmm. well depending on how its made, i wouldn't necessarily count out home made crap. its not a complicated piece of bracketry, really. and it seems to have held up so far. So is the original frame bracket is completely gone?
My truck still has the factory track bar mount no fugly drop bracket on it just the adjustable track bar & drives fine. It's gone down the hwy at a 100mph straight as a arrow. Not saying anyone should be driving that fast. Lol
Now with the old 77 Y style steering linkage it drove like total DOG POOP
Well I just want the parts to be right for the truck. If it's going to be homemade I'd rather it be me that makes it rather than trust what someone else made.
I scored a bracket at a junkyard today for $10. Now I can buy the drop bracket and adjustable trac bar from the graveyard.
No I use both a drop pitman AND a drop trac bar bracket, but I do NOT use the adjustable trac bar. As I said, my axle is centered pretty near perfect so I did not feel it was necessary to spend the extra coin. I did "rebuild" the stock track bar with new bushings though.
And as I said, the only problem I had was I couldn't find hardware the same diameter as the original in a long enough bolt. Won't be a problem if you have a fastenal near you, but I ended up getting one size larger and buying the correct drill bit to just ream the hole out maybe 1/8" for the larger hardware, which I had no problem finding in a longer size that worked.

Did it not come with the bolts? I know that the BDS version they sell comes with the hardware but it costs about $20 more.
No the JGB $30 one does not include any hardware. But the extra $20 easily buys you the right size drill bit and the bigger hardware, and then you have an extra drill bit and bigger grade 8 bolts from tractor supply or homedepot, so... idk up to you. bolt on would be easier though.
I can't remember, I did it last summer. I'll try to find the drillbit next time I'm out with my tools. I could tell you the bolt size next time I go to TSC. It was one size up from whatever the factory hardware is, though.
