well I got the Buchers bill from my Mechanic today when it was inspected and it is.......
Front Crank seal leaking, Rear main seal leaking, Oil pan gasket leaking, Transmission pan gasket leaking, Trans Cooler lines, Axle Pivot Bushings, Radius Arm bushings, wheel bearings both driver and passenger, both inner tie rod end recommended replacing all steering parts with ADJUS, rear sway bar end links.
I dont know what most of that means, but my mechanic said it might end up being cheeper to have it converted to 4wd, he gave me the contact number for someone who specializes on Ford trucks and conversions like that. I havent goten a quote yet, i expect to get a quote from my Mechanic tommrow and the other guy next week.
That is a pretty overwhelming list, not too bad if you do the work yourself but it would be cheaper to buy another truck than have all that done by a shop...
well i know little on how to do that, yes i have tools but with out help from someone who has done this before. what is the cost estimets you guys think?
Oh and the lights dont work, and the Temp gauge dont work, and the Fule gauge is funny it stops at 1/4 tank.
Like i said i dont know much about Mechanical workings of things like that. Give me a gun and i can tell you whats wrong with it and how to fix it. bring me explosives and ill blow up anything (i was a Combat Engineer i lived, ate, slept, and exercised explosives)

You sound like my dad. He built and tested explosives during Vietnam. He played with RDX like kids play with GI Joes. His hearing was bad anyway, though funny thing, he can't hear you talk to him sometimes from five feet, but he can hear a thief sneaking quietly through stuff in my truck at three in the morning. Guess that's combat instinct.
Anyway, back on subject. It all depends on how willing you are to get real involved in a project. Buying a different truck that is already 4x4, like has been said, would definitely be your best bet. And then you avoid having to fix all these other problems. To have the work done to fix these side issues would be costly enough, but to have the 4x4 conversion done.... Most shops show no mercy when it comes to labor cost. A custom project is rarely cost effective even when you do your own work, much less when you have others do it. If you are like me and like to learn by getting yourself in over your head than go for it! But if you prefer to be sensible than I would find another option. You can always have fun on another side project .
Gods do i Love RDX, so fun..... although the stuff we had was in the Det cord and shape charges, they wouldnt let us have the FUN kind that comes in sheet form. but C4 is fun too. the funny thing i remmber is even though we worked with Demo all the time, we all smoked around it constently and the infantry would walk up see us do ing that and be like Well **** that........
the problome i find is i cant find any trucks i like for less than 12g. and i like the early 90s modles more so than these gay looking newer modles. what i need is an estimet of how much i am looking at, yea i can find parts but i dont know my up from down and or left to right, no matter how many times i read the chiltons, unless someone is there with i who knows what they is doing to asist i i usualy end up ****ing up somewere. an example, on my Jeep, i ended up putting transmishion flud in the oil and oil in the transmishion. thankfully my buddy cought that and i redrained it and such. but still At least i know bettr now.
hay i found a front end for it came compleat parts and such with warenty and shipping for 1200. also i got a few questions, What is the size of my fule tanks? is there Bigger ones i can get? and how do i get the temp gadge to work? and who do i get the fule gadge to work properly?

The back tank should be 20 gallons and front should be a 19 gallon. I have a 38 gallon rear tank from A1 Auto in mine but I had to modify the sending unit to make it work, the tank is meant for gas not diesel and I can't remember what I did to it. Be a while before I take the tank out of the bronco again or I could advise you further.
As far as the temp gauge goes, It's probably the temp sender on the block. I would just install a mechanical gauge that you can buy at any auto parts store. I never trust the factory gauge anyway and the mechanical ones are easy to install. Pretty easy to do compared to the fun you have ahead of you.
nice, i also forgot to say i bought al the gaskets and seals that was listed before, except the trans cooling lines, from what i was told by the nice people at NAPA, the trans cooler is an aftermarket and they dont know what size lines i need so when i take my truck to get the new front end on I'll see what the guy can do, and i'll ask about the gadges, especialy the engen temp, the fule gade dose work kind of, it stops at a 1/4 tank so i dont know exacly how muc fule is left. also i need some new tires. XD
If you keep the original tank than you can find a new sending unit, much more difficult if you go bigger tank. Do a test if you get the chance and see what your fuel gauge shows when both your tanks are full. If your rear still shows half full than you know it is that sending unit. Probably is anyway but I like to make sure because I don't like to drop tanks if I don't have to. You can always siphon back out the fuel, I'm sure you did that in the military a time or two . Good luck.
when both tanks are Full it shows they are full, but as fuel is used, it stops t a 1/4 tank and wont go any lower for both tanks, wen i shut the truck off, it gos to empty. it is rather perplexing.
Yea i hated Siphoning fule, i always ended up with a stumic full laying on the ground pukeing my guts out. not fun, so i made a cheat cheat pump thing from a terky baster i stole from the Chow hall. XD
