If you do it yourself, you will get about 80% changed... the Torque Converter will have old fluid as well as a little left in the pan...
You can get more out by replacing the tranny filter...
Another option is to take it to a Jiffy Lube or something like that... They have a machione that forces out the old fluid while replacing it with new.... My 2001 took 16 Quarts (yup Quarts)...
I just recently changed the fluid in my 2000 EB. It is very easy. All you do is drain the torque convertor. Mine had a drain plug on it. To get to the drain plug, you need to turn the engine over by hand. Then drain the pan. Mine also had a drain plug. The pan and TC each hold about 7 or 8 quarts. Make sure your used oil container is empty. After the pan is drained, drop the pan and change the filter. Fill 'er back up and run the engine for a while to check fluid levels. Keep filling until the dipstick says it is full. Be sure to turn the engine off before adding fluid. We tried leaving the engine on, thinking it would save time. Very bad thing to do. The fluid goes everywhere when the engine is running. The TC takes probably 2 hours to drain completely. the job can also get pretty messy.

Not to flame, but you'll get more out than this ^, probably like 90-95%. Really all you'll miss is the fluid in the lines/cooler. Before I did mine a couple weeks ago, I thought about the power flush method until I heard others say that it is really hard on the system because of all the suction. To answer your question, it is a very easy job if you have even basic mechanical skills.
My tranny just started to shutter when it shifts into high gear. I am taking it a a 1,400 mile trip next weekend. Now the question is, do I feel like getting dirty, or will I pay Ford to do it (a few beers will help me decide this one, never know whats going to happen).
Might even decide to go get a 2003 EXPY (got to buy lots of beer!)
