I'll look again in the daylight. Well, after clearing my computer, it drove fine untill heavy throttle or load in which case the CEL started flashing(misfire?) so I parked it for work (about 4 hours) and just drove it home. The whole drive home is was skipping and sputtering and felt under powered and ran like crap. So it got worse. Oh joy. Now back to work to close the bar. I'll be back at again tomorrow.
Code list is shorter this time. KOEO 24,32,67,19. CM 29,32.
So the ECT fail is gone but ACT, NSS, EEC, EVP and VSS are still there.
Now I know for a fact the EVP system is not all there, the cat was missing when I got it so I doubt the system is still operating correctly. But I drove it from Greenville, SC to Boone, NC on the highway and it did great 6 months ago(I got mpg's in the low 20's the whole way!) and I drove it regularly after that. Changing my leaky, rusted and low-hanging exhaust got me this?
So I just drove it around and put gas in it and it didn't start acting up till I got home. Now the codes are KOEO-32,67,19 CM-29,32 KOER-32,25,42. But my HEGO is brand new so I'm not sure why its not working. EVP circuit I already knew it was jacked up but VSS and NSS still. Ugh.
Alright after further connection cleaning and more driving, I think I will try the MAP sensor and see how it goes. Its old anyways.
Make sure the vaccuum line that goes to the map is pitched down so that if there is any condensation it won't go into the sensor .
Inspect the various vaccuum lines on the truck in particular the lines that go to the EVAP canister on the chassis .
All my vacuum lines are in good condition. I might try replacing the vss since that is one code that wont go away but i might try cleaning connections on it first. This is starting to get frustrating, the truck will idle fine for 30 minutes plus but after a quick drive it starts acting up.
Ok, so I put a new computer and problem is still here. Replaced the fuel filter as well. No dice. I really need some help here guys. I'm at a wall here and the other forums I have been posting on have abandoned me in journey. Just want to get it running good again.
After sitting overnight, once started the bronco runs fine but as soon as it warms up it starts hesitating and skipping like it isn't getting fuel or its getting too much air. No leaks at all anywhere. All vacuum lines are good, all sensors are recent and test out good, new computer, new fuel filter, recent plugs wires, cap, rotor, coil. 88 4.9l EFI/M50d
Big ugly , prior to all this was the bronco sitting for a extended time or were you using it as a Dailey driver, I too am from sc, when I let my truck sit (extended)it experiences the symptoms you describe. This only happens during the summers months.Humidity causes this water in fuel tank .TR
