2004 F250 loose front end, where to start?

My 04 F250 has 190,000 miles and everything is stock on the front... As far as I know. Where should I start with replacing steering stuff? I'm thinking Ball joints first? The truck just feels loose and needs some front and work. My main thing that bugs me is it has a hop around 60mph+.

first place to start is the steering box, Fords box's on the super duty SUCK period. Redhead is the most popular upgrade for Ford and Dodge box's, just do a search on this site and it will prove it. After that id just check your ball joints and unit bearings, they are another know problem on the Dana 60 front axle. Both Ford and Dodge use this axle and both have numerous problems with these two parts, after that install a good set of shocks and you should be better than new again

I have a H1 Hummer as well as a 2002 f350. I had a hop in my Hummer, up and down motion, not a shimmy and it was the ball joints, however with 190,000 miles, I would rebuild the entire front end inc. ball joints etc.

You can pretty much figure ball joints every 100,000 miles.
