Would someone post in this thread when the server problems have been resolved? I'm tired of wasting my time trying to get in but getting "Database error" and will use my time more effectively elsewhere until the IT amateurs get replaced.
I have posted this same problem on the 48-52 forum, I am looking at a page reading the post and then it goes to database error screen. Glad that its not only me anyway
As I posted over on FB a while back, I really hope they are not paying anything for this new DB service, I have run faster and more efficient stuff out of my house... It's gotten so frequent I have quit bothering to take screen shots and dating them.
i've had that error probably 15 or 20 times in the last couple weeks, but i'm on here a lot so its maybe 10% of the time or a little less that it gives me trouble
10% is WAAAY to high when you are talking enterprise services. The standard QoS (Quality of Service) agreement is 99.9% uptime. Anything less and the vendor has to give money/credit/services back for the time it was down.
I guess I should have been more explicit on what I was hoping you folks would do. My hope was that there would be no responses or posts on this thread until the server problems are resolved. That is because I was going to ignore all the other emails I get re new posts on the many threads I'm subscribed to and come back to FTE when (if?) the amateurs that are "managing" FTE's servers are booted out and a pro is brought in and resolves the problem.
You may think I'm being harsh, both with my statements regarding whomever is supposed to be supporting the servers as well as staying off FTE until the problem is resolved. If so, take it up with me via PM. But, I will say this - I'm retired after 35 years in IT, during the last several of which I was responsible for a very large company's global IT infrastructure, including servers, wide & local area networks, telephone systems, etc. The problems the FTE servers have been exhibiting would not have been tolerated by that company, and when I spend several minutes just trying to get a screen to load it isn't tolerated by me.
So, I'm out of here for a while. But, if someone would post in this thread when the problems have been resolved I'll come back.
I had a similar issue when I changed my email address since the ***.net will be going away. All kinds of errors. Maybe they hired Northrop Grumman's IT people? I just got one of their error mesages. Tim go kick somebodies posterior!

Reason: Additional information.
While we will still have the db issue until they figure that out, one thing that will help tremendosly is to run an ad blocker, and then add
Code:
"l o a d u s dot e x e l a t o r dot com"
manually to the blocker. When they went with eXelate for their primary advertising and data analytics and tracking partner, everthing for lack of a better description is plumbed through eXelate's servers to make sure you get a tracking cookie so they can do targeted, personalized advertising. After blocking this, I load MUCH faster most days. Only when the db is crazy do I have issues.
(now, how long before i get banned for shareing this...)
edit, and it's back. but only in this thread, must be my posting of the info they way i did, they have it filtered so no one can post it directly, who knows
