clutch problem

hey guys, i have an 88 f 150, 300 i6 and mazda 5 speed(damn second one thats been in the truck, replaced about 18 months ago). i pushed the clutch in and it fell to the floor and the truck stalled out. wont come back up. checked the level in the clutch master cylinder and it seemed a little low so i filled the master cylinder up and pumped the clutch to no avail(last time i did this it worked). i think it was leaking from the bellhousing, but not sure. could this be a slave cylinder? or does it sound like a master cylinder? i'm lost. any help would be great. thanks

clutch problem

I had a 1995 F150 with the 300 and that mazda 5sp. My truck did the same thing to me riding up 95 through Jersey on my way to MA at 2am. I nursed it the rest of the way. My clutch pedal stayed on the floor unless I picked it up. I replaced the slave and the problem stayed. I then replaced the master and it fixed it. My dad said that a good way to tell which one went bnad, was weather or not the pedal still functioned. I would say it is you master. Just my thoughts. Your 88 may be different.

Had this happen on a 1982 F-100 with the SROD. Don't waste your time, replace everything. This is caused by friction material breaking away from the clutch disc. Had to drive 100 miles to get home. Not fun!
