TAPS: Final Roll Call 2012

Another year has almost gone and there is a long list of notables, not to mention friends and family, that passed away in 2012. Sometimes I see some of these lists at year end and am surprised to see a name or two on there that I somehow missed hearing about during the course of the year. So feel free to add to the list or add something you admired about someone already on it.

I guess for us Ford guys there was none bigger than Carroll Shelby who passed away in May. Being a North Carolinian, the passing of Andy Griffith, Earl Scruggs, and Doc Watson were 3 of our better known native sons. I was always a big fan of Ernest Borgnine - 95 years young. I gotta mention Phyllis Diller too. What a hoot she was.

Rest in Peace.

I meant to include Alex Karras, of the NFL & Blazing Saddles fame. I also heard a lot of Andy Williams Christmas music on the radio this holiday season. He passed in September.

New Year's Eve won't seem the same without Dick Clark. Even after the stroke he still was America's oldest teenager.
