Keurig Coffee maker

Well, with some arm bending and convincing from my bride, Santa brought me a Keurig coffee maker.

I always prided myself on making good strong full bodied coffee every morning but this thing takes top honors in my book. A perfect cup every time.

So far my favorite is the Donut Shop coffee.

Anyone have one or one like it?

They've got one at the office but I haven't had the courage to try it. Thought I might like it too much and it seems a little pricey. I prefer the local swill from the corner gas station. No telling what goes in their blend but probably some left over 10w30 in there somewhere.

yeah they are nice according to what the people I know that have them say,but I can't justify the expense since I only drink coffee once a week unless I am on vacation.

I have one also..

The donut shop one is what I usually buy and the breakfast blend..

I don't go in for all the flavored coffee crap like french vanilla, hazelnut....etc...

The only problem I have with them is they don't make a x-large cup like a 16oz..

So I run the same coffee through the machine twice to get a full cup.. All I do is lift the handle and leave the little cup in there. then close the lid and it resets the stupid sensor..

The guys at work bought one of the Keurig pod pots and something started happening with the heater element and it started giving the coffee a burnt taste. I would not doubt if one of the fools poored the pot back through it.

Then someone brought in a Bosch

You can pull the drip pan and make 16 oz mugs or just do a cup. It reads the barcode on the pod thats inserted.

Its pretty nice. I like it better than the other.

However here at the house I just use a perculator coffee urn.

Puts a few grounds in your teeth though. LOL

Mine brews five cups sizes, 16oz being the largest. The hot cocoa is going like hot cakes.

I'm not a fan of flavored or exotic coffees so the breakfast blend and donut shop coffees are perfect for me.

Yes, two of them in fact. One down state at my wife's' house, and one up here with me. Both of us like coffee that isn't merely coloured water. I call it man coffee. We both like the Black Magic blend, and she likes the Eight o clock set at the medium size setting. I DO NOT run my well water through it though, I pretend I'm civilized and buy the bottled water by the gallon.
I belong to the Green Mountain coffee club as well, and buy 4 boxes of 24 "cuplets" a month, for $52, with free shipping. It's somewhat cheaper than even mallwart.

On edit; That's "Dark Magic", not Black Magic.

I bought my wife one for Christmas and although I was a little leery of it at first, I love it. Ours came from Costco and has 60 different cups so I get to try something different every day. I gotta admit, I thought this thing was gonna be in the same category as our bread maker ($200, made one loaf of bread, then it sat for a year until I carted it off) but I think this gimmicky thing is a keeper.

I just have a Braun, don't know what model it is. But I use Folgers Black Silk with filtered water, and it's good for me. I'm sure it;s not as good as the ones you guys are talking about, but it makes more than 16 ounces at a time! I usually drink close to a pot a day.

Tim, if I had your job, I'd be knocking on doors for the first couple hours to use their bathrooms, or finding a fire hydrant or tree!

I'll give you a dozen rep points if you mount one in your pick up's

Dash.

It will take some major convincing for me and my wife to buy one.

We are to used to our Kona coffee and our favorite Lion's brand coffee.

Heck, I'll give you a rep anyway!

Fortunately for me, I have about 5 fast food restaurants close to my route.

I've actually thought how well this machine would work on the rolling platform of a ship at sea. Even though those days are long behind me, I still like the strong sailor's brew of black and bitter coffee.

What brand of coffee did you sailor guys use? Or do you even know? It probably came in a can labeled "Coffee" and that was it.
