I changed the fuel filter and it was pure black, the walls inside the housing were black enough to wipe it clean. There was little specs of something in there too floating around.
Also with the cover off i noticed all 3 intake side hoses on the turbo are very damp along with the rear half of the intake area surrounded by the turbo.
Thats not all, the oil dipstick flange i claimed i fixed is leaking again. On the other side of the engine the long pipe on the oil cooler is leaking.
What should i fix first? Now i am at 2 gallons since the last oil change
well, I replaced the fuel filter and it runs excellent! we'll see what it looks like in 1000 miles.
my oil cooler housing is leaking, looking for a used oil cooler to buy and re-gasket it in case mine has a hole in it.
can someone clarify the breather mod for me,
put a straight piece of pipe in between the existing turbo inlet side where the two hoses connect to it to get rid of the small hose port,
turn the PCV housing around on the valve cover and install a 90 degree bend on it facing up and route 3/4" heater hose up over the brake booster and down the fender to a filter oil catch?
can I just turn the PCV housing around with a 90 degree bend and put one of those K&N crankcase breathers on there with a vertical extension pipe so the breather is elevated?
I got a used oil cooler on ebay for about 200 to rebuild because i wasn't sure what condition mine was in. Just the center section new is about 260. Hope this helps.
