pertronix vs crane

I have a 73 f250 with a 360. I have heard over and over how one if the best bang for your buck changes is to do the pertronix ignition retrofit. I was about to order one when I noticed that crane now sells something that looks completely identical, except it has a rev limiter and is cheaper. I think its called the xr-i ? Anybody have experience with the crane product? I know thw prtronix is good, but cheaper is good too.

any info on the crane would be appreciated.
thanks guys

pertronix vs crane

Does the Crane use a light sensor rather than a magnetic sensor that the pertronix uses? Maybe I'm thinking of the mallory unit. Anyway, I personally went with the pertronix 'cause it seemed like you would have less to go wrong with the magnetic sensor as opposed to the light sensor (don't know that I even knew about the Crane system at the time, and I got a great deal on the Pertronix). I can't imagine that different magnetic systems would differ greatly in terms of reliability.
